Spooky, creepy and fun!!  October is here and Halloween is in the air! The leaves are starting to change and the trees are dropping their leaves. It’s time to start planning your Halloween party food for kids menu!

This weekend we bought 2 humongous pumpkins and we are starting to plan our costumes! I’m so excited to finally share some Halloween Party Food ideas with you! As a bonus, these recipes all fit in to your Clean Eating Lifestyle!

You may be asking What can I serve at a kids Halloween party? I have the same question every year! I want the food to be fun and festive, but I also want to keep it somewhat healthy!

I have noticed that more and more families are focusted on healthy eating, especially around teh holidays, so even the parents appreciate the thought!

The largest struggle around the holidays with trying to eat clean with kids, is figuring out the balance between fun food ideas and making sure they don’t feel like they are missing out on anything. Clean Eating should be healthy, but if you feel like you are depriving yourself, it is harder to stick to!

These ideas get us in the festive mood while cutting back on sugar and processed foods!

Here are our Halloweeen party favorites!

Mummy Dogs

Mummy dogs are so fun and SO easy to make! I’ve seen this done on line with store bought crescent dough, I prefer to make my own dough. I use this Easy Bread Dough recipe but you can use your favorite recipe.

Roll the dough into a rectangle that is about 1/8 inch and cut into strips.

I like to use Nitrate free, no filler, grass fed beef hot dogs…like these! Costco also has organic grass fed hot dogs that taste even better, but you get less in a pack…so it’s your decision!

Wrap one breadstick around the hot dog to make it look like a mummy. I slice green olives and gently press them in to the dough to make eyeballs. You could also use chocolate chips.

Brush the bread dough with a beaten egg white and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until browned. You could also brush the dough with garlic butter (in place of the egg whites) for even more flavor.

Enjoy! Both Kids and Adults like this one!

Pancake Cupcakes

There is nothing like a pancake on a Saturday morning! To my disappointment, the rest of my family does not agree …but that’s OK, more for me! I love pancakes so much that I will make them at any opportunity.

Pancake muffins make an easy make ahead breakfast! When I make these pancake muffins, I like to pour about 1/2 tsp of maple syrup right over the top before baking. If you prefer, you can also mix maple syrup into the batter.

But having the syrup on the top of the muffin makes every bite taste a little different!

For these Halloween muffins, I added some turkey bacon to the top before baking…I love Sweet and Salty!! So Good!!

Find some fun Halloween decorations and go crazy! I love Hobby Lobby for these types of decorations. If you plan a year before, you can get them at 70% off the regular price if you wait for the after Halloween sale!

Ghost and Pumpkin Pizza Bites

Not all Halloween food for kids needs to be fancy…I mean, we are talking about kids here! So this is one of the easiest snacks on the list! If you have a recipe for an easy pizza dough, use it here.

I was running low on time (aren’t we all!) so I bought an Organic premade pizza crust. There’s no shame in a healthy store bought crust!

Use some fun Halloween cookie cutters to cut out different shapes. The kids helped me with this part. This would also be a really fun Halloween party idea! Hand out some pizza crust and let the kids cut out their own shapes! They could even make pumpkin faces using the leftover pizza crust.

Add some pizza sauce, mozzarella and any toppings that you have on hand. I chopped up some spinach and hid it under the cheese! If you don’t have pizza sauce on hand, just simmer tomato sauce with oregano, thyme and basil. Add a dash of honey to reduce the acidity in the tomato and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Then it is ready for use!

These were a hit with the kids and so incredibly fast and easy to make!

Chocolate Almond Flour Cupcakes

In the spirit of clean eating, I made these cupcakes using the Simple Mills. I love this muffin mix because it only has 8 grams of sugar and it is from coconut sugar. It uses almond flour, arrowroot and cocoa powder. It has only 7 ingredients and all are healthy. Best of all, they are delicious!!

I sprinkled some enjoy chocolate chips on the tops before baking, because….chocolate chips!!  These muffins are so delicious! Even the adults like them, and no one misses the frosting on traditional cupcakes.

I buy this cake mix from Thrive Market (click to get 25% and free shipping on top of a 30 day free trial at Thrive) but now you can also get it on Amazon. They also make a pumpkin cake mix that it delicious!

Easy Peasy! A Halloween feast in just a matter of hours.

  1. The kids always love “pumpkins” made with peeled oranges with a slice of celery for a stem. And I love it too since it’s so easy! Can’t wait to try some of these ideas – the mummy dogs look so fun!
