Dish soaps are hardly an exciting topic of discussion. If you’re like the old me, you don’t give dish soap a second thought. But when you really think about it, we are using dish soaps on dishes that will ultimately cook our food or go in our mouths! Until I found Puracy Natural Dish Soap, I had tried numerous different brands. I had issues with all of them, ranging from effectiveness to ease of use.

Chemicals in Dish Soaps

Many conventional dish soaps contain the preservative, methylisothiazolinone, also known as MIT. MIT can also be found in diaper wipes and has been known to cause severe allergic reactions.

Dish soaps also contain Sodium Laureth Sulfates (SLES) and/or Sodium Lauryl Sulfates (SLS). These are both foaming agents and produce the bubbles we associate with cleaning. They are both easily absorbed into the skin and have been linked to cancer.

Puracy Natural Dish Soap is a Chemical Free Dish Soap made of naturally derived, plant based products. Their dish soap is free of triclosan, parabens, phospates, SLS, SLES, dyes and more.

Puracy – So what’s the Deets?

In my search for a chemical free dish soap, I have tried numerous brands. Puracy came out on top. I based this on 3 primary things.

• Foaming properties – A products foaming ability is no reflection on it’s effectiveness, however, I need a product to foam or I don’t feel like it is working! Puracy does not use SLS which is the chemical used to create the foaming properties, so I was skeptical. Puracy foams a little but not as much as other dish soaps. It has a watery consistency and takes a little getting used to. The positive to this is that it rinses off very easily. There is no sticky residue left behind. This is especially great when cleaning difficult items like straws and bottle lids.
• Amount of product needed – Unlike other chemical free dish soaps, this one does not require a large amount to be effective. We handwash select dishes every day and a bottle of this soap will last us 1-2 months. I buy it in a 3 pack off Amazon for a better value.
• Cleaning Ability – Of course the most important measure of a dish soap is how well it cleans. Puracy Natural Dish Soap is as effective as a traditional chemical laden dish soap. It removes grease and oil as well as cleaning normal everyday dishes. If a pot or dish is especially greasy, it may be necessary to soak it first in warm water and soap.

The first ingredient in this product is Purified Water and the remaining ingredients are primarily coconut or vegetable based. You won’t give your soap a second thought as you clean water bottles and lunch containers!
